The Second World Philanthropy Forum Successfully Concludes in Beijing, China

BEIJING, China, Nov 30, 2017—The Second World Philanthropy Forum jointly organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and Tsinghua University (THU) was closed in the Assembly Hall of CPAFFC in the afternoon of November 30, 2017 in Beijing.
The theme of this forum is "Collaboration". Over 400 heavy-hitters from more than 260 agencies in over 30 countries engaged in seven high-end dialogues, four roundtable discussions and four parallel forums on such topics as strategies for women and children's health, anti-poverty and social governance, youth development, social influence investment, green cooperation, foundation industry governance and cooperation, charity and social services by Chinese people at home and abroad and "Belt and Road Initiative", the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and international social organizations. The forum also set up the WPF Academic Committee and breakout sessions for philanthropy and social services collaboration concurrently.
The forum was attended by Mr. Li Haifeng, Vice-Chairperson of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Ms. Gao Xiaobin, Vice Minister of Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China, Ms. Li Xiaolin, President of the CPAFFC, Ms. Chen Xu, Chairperson of Tsinghua University Council, Ms. Julia Eileen Gillard, Chair of Global Partnership for Education and former Australian Prime Minister, Ms. Helle Thorning-Schmidt, President of the Save the Children and former Prime Minister of Denmark, Ms. Erna Witoelar, Former Minister of Human Settlements and Regional Development and former Co-Chair of the Association of Philanthropy Indonesia, Mr. Nicholas Rosellini, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in China and Ms. Rana Flowers, UNICEF Representative to China.
At the closing ceremony, the forum released the World Philanthropy Forum Declaration of Friendship, announced the Community of Shared Future: A Network of Synergetic Cooperation between Charities and Social Services, and launched the Collaboration and Cooperation Mechanism of Chinese Social Work.
